Apple Pudding Recipe
Old-fashioned apple pudding baked in the oven really warms the soul. You can’t go wrong with this virtually foolproof recipe. And although it tastes great as is, you can top the pudding with whipped cream or ice cream. Serve warm or cold.

Serves 8
Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 egg
1 cup chopped walnuts or hickory nuts
1/2 cup apples; peeled, cored and chopped
pinch of salt
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C)
- Prepare apples; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar and egg until smooth and sugar is no longer visible.
- Add flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla into sugar/egg mixture; beat until well combined.
- With a spoon, stir apples and walnuts (or hickory nuts) into the mixture.
- Pour batter into a Dutch oven pan or a 9 x 9 inch pan that has been greased with butter or non-stick baking spray.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Note
You can use ice cream or whipped cream as a topping if you like.
